In the Apostolic Letter “Patris corde” (“With a Father’s Heart”), Pope Francis recalls the 150th anniversary of the declaration of Saint Joseph as Patron of the Universal Church. To mark the occasion, the Holy Father has proclaimed a “Year of Saint Joseph” from 8 December 2020 to 8 December 2021, on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. During this time of pandemic, in light of ordinary people rising to make such a positive difference in how we support each other in this pandemic, they are not unlike St. Joseph who is unnoticed by many, but in his loving and faithful ways plays a major part in our salvation.
In honor of the Year of Saint Joseph, the USCCB has composed this novena to the foster father of Jesus and patron saint of the universal Church. Visit www.usccb.org/saint-joseph to access the brochure and daily videos.
