Rosary Group

Who is the Rosary Group for?

The Rosary Group is a diverse group made up of undergraduates, graduates, post-docs, and even young professionals. We are brought together by our common love for Mary, the Mother of Our Lord. We welcome anyone who seeks the treasures of the quiet, calm and prayerful Rosary!

When does the Rosary Group meet? What do they do?
We come together every Wednesday at 8:00 pm in the Newman Gallery to pray the Rosary. It is a peaceful time to reflect and honor Our Lady. Our activities are a way to deepen out faith in God, and include singing hymns of praise, praying the Chaplet of Divine Mercy and the Catholic Litanies, and learning about different Saints.

Testimonials
“Going to Rosary Group each week has been a huge source of peace in my life. In the midst of a hectic week, I just go to Newman and pray the rosary with some of my best friends. Meditating on the mysteries of the rosary takes my mind off of all the stress and business of my day-to-day life and centers me back on my faith, what really matters. Not only that, but sharing in this practice with my beloved friends makes it all the more meaningful! Rosary group is a combination of prayer and a loving and supportive community!”

“I absolutely love praying with the Newman Rosary Group! Not only does Mother Mary always take my prayers to Jesus, but she also fills me with so much peace, freeing me from all my burdens. Being able to pray the Rosary with such a loving group of Cal students creates a unifying feeling in that we all gather to pray, believing in Mary’s incredibly powerful intercession. After all, Jesus did leave her as our mother, and being the incredible mother that she is, she never fails to do what is best for us.”

“Being born and raised Catholic, the rosary is a cherished prayer that
I grew up with; I strongly believe that it’s the grace of Mary that
has kept my family as closely knit as we are. In leaving for college,
I expected to dearly miss praying the rosary at home. At Newman’s
Rosary Group, however, I have found a place where I get to share, with
friends I consider just as good as family, the many joys that devotion
to our Blessed Mother brings. Rosary Group is definitely one of the
highlights of my week.”
