Who is Newman Service Corp intended for?
The Newman Service Corps is a group of students and community members
who desire to improve the local community and world through the
examination and implementation of Catholic Social Justice teachings.
As the living Word, we seek to explore service; we work to understand
and assist those who are seen as the least among us, so that their
plights, and our paths, may be illuminated.
The Newman Service Corps seeks
Creation of an open, eclectic, and inclusive community that works
together to explore issues of Social Justice.
Education, where leaders in our community guide us through service and
social justice topics which may lie outside of our comfort zones.
Service, where we create the Word incarnate, putting into practice the
foundations of Christan Social Justice teachings.
When do we meet?
We have no set weekly meeting. We meet three times a month as
announced because of the varied nature of the service opportunities we
participate with. Additional we do fun community events throughout the
semester that are also announced because of their varied nature.
