| Pastoral Council |
"A parish pastoral council is a consultative body to the pastor, composed of members of the (pastor) and members of the parish, which promotes pastoral action through reflection and planning. The pastoral council helps the parish community to: be in touch with its identity and its values; articulate its vision/mission; and identify achievable goals." Mary Kay Bailey, O.P., "Choosing Pastoral Council Members"
The Newman Pastoral Council is a 12-member leadership group that reflects the diversity of our campus-parish community. We meet once a month throughout the year, focusing on parish pulse-taking, visioning, and short- and long-range planning. Current priorities include communications initiatives (especially electronic and Web-based); planning for physical and capital needs (with the finance committee); adult & youth education and faith-sharing; social and community service; and hospitality/outreach.
A picture board featuring the current council members is located on the wall to your right as you enter Newman Hall. We are always interested in hearing from you! Please leave messages for us at the reception desk for the Pastoral Council mailbox.
